Who is NONA?
NONA is a Romanian-American entrepreneur, author, and illustrator of the "TORC the CAT" series.
The character TORC, a curious and affectionate cat, was inspired by Nona's real-life rescue cat.
For the last 7 years, NONA, the author of the TORC books, and her husband Adrian have worked to support children's education through their #SMILESwithTORC Charitable Campaign.
* 3,573 books reached 1070 Little Free Libraries across the USA and Canada, and another 3,027 books were donated to charities that help children, schools, and hospitals.
The #SMILESwithTORC's "Making a Difference, One Book at a Time!" initiative began in 2018 with a vision to share the magic of reading with children and families everywhere. Since then, they donated over 6,600 TORC books to communities across the U.S. and Canada. From schools and hospitals to Little Free Libraries and charities, their goal is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to discover the joy of books.

The stories are designed to be both fun and informative, with a strong emphasis on sparking a lifelong love for learning.
Nona's creativity goes beyond creating children’s books to include painting, photography, and gardening. She sees gardening as a unique form of art, where nature serves as both canvas and medium.
